Mumbai T2 vertical airport terminal - Necessity is the mother of all inventions

Necessity is the mother of all invention and forced to do what is considered as unachievable. Proposed Mumbai airport T2 terminal would be the first vertical terminal in the country and it is proposed not by intention to create a marvelous architecture but to negotiate the acute shortage of land for the airport. But whatever is the reason the proposal should be welcome. This model once applied would serve as a model to other airports of the country to exploit the availability of the land to the maximum.


Technology and invention somewhere finds its way for the benefit of the society elsewhere. If an airport can manage multiple bases vertically who knows the model could find its adoption to highways, housing societies, institutions etc. Let this model be accepted and propagate with utmost care as it would be the launch pad of such land-maximizes-use projects coming in future.

Malshej Ghat Accident - Case of Human Error

Once again human error is said to be responsible for the death of 30 passengers in Malshej Ghat where a state transport bus collided head on with the tempo and fell into a deep gorge.  Driving in hilly areas is totally different from driving in plain areas. Drivers who have experience and skills in driving through plain may find it difficult and challenging to drive in hilly areas. The gravity at the inclined plane and sharp turns made it very difficult to control the vehicle. Also driving after sunset and before sunrise challenges further as drivers are unable to gauge the sharpness in the turns properly and driving is done purely on the assumptions. The desperation in BJP to win general election 2014 is evident. It is not shy away to strike an alliance with any regional potential political outfit. The closeness of BJP with MNS in Maharashtra has already raffled feathers in longtime ally Shiv Sena.
