AAP approach in noticeable

Image
AAP approach to its maiden General Election is noticeable. Though it is true that AAP is comparatively less experienced than congress or BJP and it has never been tested against national politics but its approach is solid. Transparency in the funding & selection of candidates have put it way ahead than any other political party at present. Kejriwal put himself against BJP prime ministerial hopeful Narendra Modi. His claim that he does not want to become MP otherwise would have opted for a safe seat seems legitimate. His invitation for an open debate to Narendra Modi is again a bold move. It’s time for BJP especially Narendra Modi to rethink the strategy as Kejriwal is not just another candidate. After all he was the one who defeated the Congress in Delhi in his first election.  Its AAP vs BJP in Varanasi

Desperation to win

Image
The desperation in BJP to win general election 2014 is evident. It is not shy away to strike an alliance with any regional potential political outfit. The closeness of BJP with MNS in Maharashtra has already raffled feathers in longtime ally Shiv Sena. The latest episode of inclusion and exclusion of Sri Rama Sena chief in Karnataka is another example. Earlier party cleared the ticket to those who were involved in Muzaffarnagar riots. The infighting of the party is known to all and sundry. Every senior leader is fighting their own prestige battle. It will be interesting to see in the coming election how this desperation of the party will responded by the people in the presence of more potential challenger like AAP which has already upset it to win Delhi state polls.   Disgruntled seniors  In & Out of BJP in 5 hours

New Low Everyday - Competition Among Indian Law Makers

Image
It seems that law makers in the country are in competition to edge each one out in protest in a most headlines grabbing way. Snatching of papers of the speaker, pepper sprayed and now to stripping, every single day our law makers are touching new low. By getting elected for, they consider they have the right to hijack the house and do whatever seems appropriate to their understanding. They shamed the people of the country and the country before the world. The house should take stringent disciplinary action to set an example & deter other. What’s worst is the comment of the UP minister Azam Khan on the issue of stripping of 2 RJD MLAs. He once again epitomized the arrogance of the UP government as they are voted in the full majority, they are free to make such sick comments. Days are not gone when another MLA declared that chilling cold of UP cannot killed anyone in the relief camp. It’s time that people should be given power to ‘Right to Call Back’ these law makers who lack m...

Benefits of smaller states in India

Image
With the birth of the new 29 th state of the country Telangana, dozens other such demands started resurfacing. Though the decisions regarding the formation of new states is always marred with the accusation to serving for political agenda of ruling party but observations and experiences revealed that smaller states are beneficial for the people of the state.  The government in smaller states are in better reach of the people. The access to the government machinery like High Court & Secretariat become easier. Localized issues are attended to, which generally are not given so much of importance the in the bigger state. Administration can be express responsive. The state can concentrate on the forte they wanted to, for the growth and development of the state. People re more connected to the democracy as their issues are directly taken up or they can pull down the government in the next election for that reason. As far as Indian states are concerned

Better to be safe than sorry

Image
In an unfortunate incident 6 people lost their life on Monday, 17 February 2014, in their quest to reach home safely. The Mumbai locals are ferocious for their overcrowding especially at peak hours. Any one boarding the train at that time is always aware of the risk he/she is going to undertake. Government has limitations to this condition. New trains cannot be introduce due to lack of administration set ups and resources. Though solutions like metro and monorail will help in cutting the traffic to some limits but that still will take time. Commuters can, on other hand, minimize it. If they tweak a little their timings to office or business, they can avoid the peak hour rush in trains. Early leaving and early going to office or business can also reduce the time spent in traffic on roads. Thought to provide safe and convenient public transport is the responsibility of the government but till that happens it’s better to be safe than sorry. Over crowding can be avoided...

Pepper Politics - A shameful incident in Parliament history

Image
Once again our MPs shamed the nation. The mindless attack by pepper spray open the debate once again for frisking MPs before entering parliament. If the frisking of MPs started than it will the send the message to the world that not even our MPs could be trusted in our own house. Our proud democracy of 1 billion plus gives every one chance to vent out their dissent. But violence is unacceptable. If someone can smuggle pepper spray and can attempted for petrol then chances are there that someone can also thought of smuggling gun to make their point or get their voice heard. The imagination is itself chilling.   It’s time to set an example here. Not only the MP should be terminated but also criminal case against him should be instituted to deter other form planning something similar.  Pepper Spray Incident : A shameful chapter in Parliament history

Politics of Favoritism by Arvind Kejriwal

Image
The move regarding the electricity bill is unacceptable from someone who is highly educated as Arvind Kejriwal. First of all electricity cannot be subsidized - it’s unsustainable. The price of the electricity is govern by the price of the coal, thus government have limitations in limiting the price. Second, the move by the Arvind sent the message for the prospecting politicians to ask people to break the laws & do not pay taxes and bills to get benefited later. Third, we are clearly heading towards the politics of populism and favoritism.  A chief minister can be form particular party but when he is part of the government then he is the man of the state. Favoritism is against the raj dharma and is a form of corruption itself.  Waiving  electricity bill - Cutting the wrong wire
